The Yandex team announced a useful expansion of functionality in the mobile application of the same name. A smart camera has become available in the Yandex application.
If you point the camera at an object in the environment, the application will recognize it, search it, and give details. It also allows you to quickly scan documents and translate text.
For example, you can quickly find out the price and manufacturer of the item you like, as well as find similar items. A menu, index, poster or ticket in a foreign language can be translated using the integrated Yandex.Translator.
You can also find out details about landmarks, dog or cat breeds, plant species and much more.
The smart camera is available in the Yandex app for iOS and Android. To enable it, you need to click on the camera icon in the search bar.
