Last November, Vivo announced a proprietary Android-based shell called OriginOS, which will replace the proprietary add-on FuntouchOS.
Earlier this month, Vivo released OriginOS open beta for 11 devices. The manufacturer is now starting beta testing for the second batch of devices. Acceptance of applications starts today, which will last until January 27.

On January 28, beta testing will begin on the following smartphones.
- I live Nex 3
- Vivo Nex 3 5G
- iQOO Neo
- I live X30
- I live X30 Pro
- iQOO Neo 855 Racing
Vivo is officially calling OriginOS the next generation mobile operating system, which has greatly improved its design, smoothness and usability. OriginOS offers a reimagined widget system, an expanded gesture system and a completely new visual component. OriginOS features 26 gestures and their combinations. There is also a SuperCard that can be called up at any time (even when the screen is off) for quick and easy mobile payments. Vivo has prepared “behavioral wallpapers” that simulate complex movements such as wiggling each individual petal of a flower. The wallpaper can also match outdoor weather, accurately displaying clouds according to cloud cover, wind speed and visibility of local weather conditions.
The new operating system also features system enhancements that include memory and application optimizations, smart freezing of applications, and preloading of applications for smooth and fast performance.
