The story follows Charles (Danson), a retired teacher who, since the death of his wife a year ago, lives without great prospects. Trapped in a monotonous routine and with an increasingly distant relationship with his daughter, he comes across the ad looking for a private detective.
Motivated by this unexpected discovery, Charles decides to reinvent himself and take on a new mission: going undercover to uncover the mystery surrounding the theft of a valuable family heirloom. Production is created by Mike Schur from “The Good Place“, “Parks and Recreation” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine“
“An Undercover Spy ” is also based on the documentary “Double Agent”, nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary in 2021.
