Samsung has finally begun to actively get rid of ads in standard applications of its proprietary One UI shell.

In August, the company promised to remove ad inserts from branded apps, including Samsung Weather, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Theme, before the end of the year. However, the exact timetable was not released at the time. The process is now running and ads have been removed from Samsung Health and Samsung Pay.

In a statement to the Samsung Community Forums, the moderator announced that the Samsung Health app will not display ads from today, October 1st. A separate post says the company has also removed the banner from Samsung Pay.

It’s worth noting that Samsung has currently only removed ads from Samsung Health and Samsung Pay in the South Korean version of the One UI firmware. It may take some time before these changes take effect in other regions.
