An unprecedented incident that happened in a Nicosia school last week is the subject of police investigations. According to Alpha Cyprus, a high school student went to school with 15,000 euros in cash, which he distributed to his classmates. According to what has come to light, a student received 3,500 euros because he wanted to buy a motorcycle, while a female student received 500 euros. Other students got smaller amounts. In fact, some of them have already spent the money. The police were informed about the incident after a complaint from the father. It is noted that the school management has contacted the parents of the children who took the money, so that they return it. A parent who spoke to Alpha News said the €15,000 was mostly in €100 notes and looked “collared”, meaning it came from a bank. He even claimed that a professor pocketed 50 euros. The police and the Ministry of Education of Cyprus are investigating the incident.
