Last November the singer and actress Cassandra, known as Cassie, Venturaformer partner of the American rapper Sean Diddy Combs, Puff Daddy, had accused him of violence and repeated physical and other abuse. The singer has always denied all the accusations and the case, at least in court, was resolved with a confidential agreement between the parties.
But today, the CNN released a video that she came into possession of and which dates back to 2016 (the relationship between Puff Daddy and Cassie Ventura lasted from 2007 to 2018) in which the rapper is seen violently attack the girl.
CNN releases a video in which Puff Daddy beats his ex-partner Cassandra Ventura
The video – very violent – is composed of recordings taken from various angles of the corridors of theInterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles (closed today). In the first scene we see Ventura hurrying out of a hotel room, heading towards the elevators, then Combs running down the same corridor with a towel around his waist. In the next scene Combs grabs Ventura by the back of the head, he throws her to the ground and kicks her repeatedly. Then he retrieves a bag and a suitcase thrown on the floor, turns and starts again kick your partner, who remains motionless on the ground. She drags her by the sweatshirt before leaving. Ventura slowly gets up and picks up some objects from the floor: shortly afterwards Combs comes back and appears to push the woman, then sits on a chair, grabs an object and throws it.
According to what was published by CNN in the summons to court by Puff Daddy, this is one of the episodes of violence recounted by Cassandra Ventura who in fact fled the hotel room after receiving a punch in the face from drunk boyfriend and that it would have given her a black eye. In the text it is said that «after realizing that her escape would make Mr. Combs even more angry, and completely blocked in the vicious cycle of abuseMrs. Ventura returned to the hotel with the intention to apologize for running away from her attacker.”
Hotel security staff allegedly urged her to get back into a taxi and leave, making her realize they had seen the security footage. But the movieaccording to the document cited by CNN, would then have been delivered to the rapper who would have paid 50 thousand dollars to the hotel for it.
Cassandra Ventura and the complaint against her ex-boyfriend
In November Ventura said that the first abuses on Combs' part had begun shortly after the two met, when she was 19 years old, in 2005. He repeatedly beat her, raped her and forced her to have sex with various men who were prostitutes, filming the rapes, and who in 2018, towards the end of their relationship, he also broke into her house to rape her. The lawsuit states that Ventura she never reported it to the police while they were together because she feared that “it would just give Combs another excuse to hurt her.”
The case ended in a settlement, with Puff Daddy's lawyer stating: «The decision of resolve a caseespecially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit in no way undermines his outright denial of the claims. He is happy that they have reached a mutual agreement and wishes Mrs. Ventura the best.” Except that today this video calls everything into question. If not in court, for all to see, since the video has already toured the world.
Cassie's is not the only accusation leveled against Puff Daddy: in February he was formally accused of sexual assault by one of his former collaborators, the music producer Rodney Lil Rod Jones.
