At Britain Taiwan’s Digital Policy Minister Audrey Tang will be here this week on a rare visit, during which she is expected to visit ministries and meet with OneWeb, a company specializing in low-orbit satellites.
Taiwan considers Britain an important democratic partner despite the absence of formal relationshighlighting London’s concerns about China’s increased military activity near the island – which Beijing considers part of Chinese territory – and its support for Taipei’s participation in international organizations such as the World Health Organization.
Tang, one of her most internationally prominent ministers Taiwanwho speaks English very well and uses Twitter extensively, will attend London Technology Week and is expected to visit the ministries of Science, Innovation and Technology as well as Business and Trade, according to a statement from her ministry.
The two sides “will exchange views on issues related to digital governance and digital industry cooperation”according to the ministry.
