Due to an accident involving a tanker, which lost control while sailing outside Istanbul, the movement of ships in its straits Βοσπόρου stopped on Friday (28/05).
According to what was broadcast by the Turkish TV channel NTV and as reported by APE-MPE, the Croatian tanker RAVA lost control of the steering system and started moving ashore, at the height of the Yenikioi district.
It was stopped at a distance of 300 meters by the Coast Guard tugs who got to the point.
Due to the accident, the movement of ships in the Bosphorus in both directions was stopped.
THE Turkish The Coast Guard later announced that two tugs were leading the RAVA to anchorage.
Authorities in Istanbul said no injuries or environmental problems had been reported as a result of the accident.
