A former English teacher faces up to 12 years in prison after confessing to having sex with a 17-year-old student, whom he taught at a high school in Wisconsin, USA.
Abby Dibbs, 35, was prosecuted for sexual assault. It was preceded by her confession that she did sex with a student on two occasions at her home last weekend.
According to the police report, the 17-year-old confirmed the relationship to the detectives, stating that he was “in love” with the teacher and irritated with the person who “nailed” their relationship.
Officer Max Jenatscheck revealed that Dibbs had said that she and the student had discussed how they felt about each other and that there were some red lines they could not cross. “Dibbs has admitted that they crossed all these red lines,” he said.
Court documents show that the teenager’s mother said she was glad the person who reported the illicit relationship was doing the right thing.
Dibbs was released on $ 3,500 bail on condition that she refrain from any contact with the 17-year-old boy. At the same time she cannot have unattended contact with children other than her own and she is forbidden to be in Portage high school.
Last Friday it also became known through an announcement that the teacher he no longer works at any school in the area. The same announcement clarified that he is not going to return to Portage high school.
The local authorities also learned that there was an immediate contact with the police, as soon as the information about the teacher-student relationship became known.
