In Zurich, the presentation of the amateur Niva Red Legend Team took place, which in January next year will perform in the classic standings of the Dakar rally on a 1984 LADA Niva SUV. The racers arrived in Togliatti and enlisted the support of AvtoVAZ, and then went home to the VAZ-2121, where they held a presentation of the team’s equipment and showed the racing style of the SUV.
The pilot of the Niva Red Legend Team is Mario Jacober and the navigator is Sladjan Miljic. The team’s starting number is 763. The numbers are not random, the Swiss chose them, since this is the automobile index of the Samara region, where the legendary Niva was created. The riders will compete in the new Dakar Classic category, which was created specifically for cars that participated in the competition before 2000.
