As the survey has shown, most often Russians learn news of the economy and socio-political life of the country and their region from central television (47%), social networks and blogs on the Internet (42%), conversations with people (40%), news, analytical and official sites on the Internet (36%), as well as from regional and local television (31%).

At the same time, the main sources of news about events in our country are television (42%, 11-19% among young people), social networks and blogs on the Internet (21%, 35-45% among young people), news, analytical and official sites on the Internet. (20%), conversations with people (5%) and instant messengers (4%).

The most popular social networks and messengers in Russia are:

  1. WhatsApp (83%),
  2. YouTube (75%),
  3. VKontakte (61%),
  4. Instagram (53%),
  5. Telegram (42%).

For the largest daily audience, the Top 5 is the same: WhatsApp – 63%, YouTube – 39%, Instagram – 33%, VKontakte – 30% and Telegram – 22%.

Among the Russian audience of social networks and instant messengers, almost every third (29%) spends more than three hours a day on them (72% among 18-24 year olds), 16% – from two to three hours, 25% – one to two hours per day. day, 19% – half an hour, and 9% – less than half an hour.

The greatest interest of the audience of social networks and messengers is caused by news about events in the country and the world (49%), politics (42%), education and self-development (39%), humor (37%), as well as food and recipes (36%).
