Liverpool Crown Court has convicted 51-year-old transsexual Aria Peers of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl. The defendant, who worked as a social support worker, had developed a relationship of trust with the victim through a shared interest in the film ‘Star Wars’. The acts committed by the accused were extremely serious and included sexual abuse and exploitation of the child, for which the accused was found guilty by the court. The acts came to light when the victim decided to speak to his friends and teachers, revealing the abusive behaviors he had been subjected to. According to the Daily Mail, the accused had been identified as a man during the offences, but is now identified as a woman.
