The president of SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsipras, spoke about a speech with “so many lies”, climbing to the floor of the Parliament after the prime minister, whom he accused of presenting himself as allegedly “philanthropic” and with a “social face”.
In the context of the discussion at the level of party leaders, which takes place at his request, with the object of informing the House about the government’s social policies, Al. Tsipras initially commented that the ND parliamentary group “warmly applauded” Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as, as he said, “they need it to boost morale” after yesterday’s appearance in the European Parliament.
“You talked about critical issues of social policy, but you forgot to mention five words,” underlined Al. Tsipras, and noted: “accuracy, inflation, gasoline, pandemic, skevoria”.
He described the Prime Minister’s speech as a “case study” for political scientists on “how one can turn black into white and how to tell so many lies.”
“The reality is what refutes you, not us”, he continued, while accusing the prime minister that in order to talk about social policy, “he dressed up not as a social democrat, but as a KKE”.
“It was you who told us that ‘the law is the right of the worker’, you who brought in a bill this morning to abolish the entire legislative framework governing labor relations, who abolished the eight-hour shift in essence, who have created a jungle situation for the workers, where 35% of workers today are part-time or precarious,” he said characteristically, adding that he presented himself as “philanthropic” and with a “social face”.
