At today’s meeting of the Political Center of SYRIZA PS (of the “coffee” group), Alexis Tsipras, estimated, according to party sources, that the country under Mitsotakis’ responsibility has remained completely unfortified in the face of the impending escalation of the energy crisis, a fact that may has, as he said, very serious consequences for social cohesion but also for the functioning of the economy.
Based on the same sources, the president of SYRIZA expressed the assessment that with these data the possibility of elections is extremely probable and asked for the electoral readiness of the party.
“Mitsotaki’s responsibility is dramatic. He deconstructed the country’s energy strategy and brought in frightening accuracy long before the war broke out. He worked for funds and energy cartels and not for consumers. I am afraid there is a risk not only of rising energy poverty. but also for a return to humanitarian crisis.
With these data, it is not excluded that Mr. Mitsotakis chooses to escape immediately. “We have to be ready for elections very soon and even more ready to take on the responsibility of getting society and the economy out of a crisis that a right-wing government is inheriting.”
Earlier, Tsipras said in a statement that “the disastrous choices of the Mitsotakis government in energy have left society, the economy and the citizens in the grip of the crisis.”
“Today, when even the Commission urges the member states to put pricing, even to nationalize infrastructure if necessary, Mr. Mitsotakis pretends to be the unknown, supposedly sends letters and promises new support measures”, notes Alexis Tsipras and underlines that ” measures are needed immediately and effectively to cut the accuracy: ceiling on electricity and gas prices, immediate reduction of VAT on fuel, immediate reduction of VAT on basic food products, increase of the minimum wage to 800 euros “.
“Mr. Mitsotakis, instead of pretending to be the prime minister of limited liability, the prime minister of excuse, it is better to launch the procedures for appealing to the popular verdict, so that the country acquires a government of responsibility, so that the current crisis does not turn into a humanitarian tragedy.” Alexis Tsipras.
