A well-known Chinese manufacturer left Russia. More recently, Lifan was the sales leader

The data for the last three months and the lack of offers for the sale of new cars indicate that Lifan has left the Russian market.

Lifan came to Russia in the 2000s and became the leader of our market among other Chinese manufacturers. The record was set in 2013, when the sales volume exceeded 23 thousand cars. From 2014 to 2018, it was Lifan that sold the most Chinese cars with us. The brand’s fleet in the Russian Federation is now over 154 thousand cars. Only Chery and Geely have more.

The bulk of the Lifan was produced at the Derways plant in Cherkessk. Crossover X60 sold 54 thousand units, Solano – 51.5 thousand units. According to rumors, they planned to produce cars at the Haval plant near Tula. But it was all just talk.

Since 2016, sales of Lifan cars in Russia have been consistently declining. In 2021, sales amounted to only 617 cars. Since the beginning of this year, the brand has sold only 8 cars in Russia. In January, 3 X60 crossovers and one Solano sedan were sold. In February – two copies of these models. Sales dropped to zero in March. In 2022, Lifan cars were not registered with the traffic police, and there is not a single announcement of sales of new Lifans on the Web.
