A woman was arrested for attempting to assassinate Colombia’s opposition candidate Miguel Uribe

A woman who is suspected of being involved in an attempted murder of opposition candidate for the presidency of Colombia, Miguel Uribe, was arrested on Saturday in the southern part of the country, police said. The suspect was arrested in Cacetza, where part of the Amazon forest is extended to the Colombian territory, and was expected to move to the capital Bogota “in the coming hours”, a source told the French agency, without any details. The 39 -year -old conservative senator was hit by three bullets, two of which succeeded him on the head on June 8, during a rally with his supporters in Bogota. After undergoing emergency surgery, he is being treated in an intensive care unit of the capital’s clinic and his condition continues to be critical.
