AADE: Sealing and disclosure of service stations that sell adulterated fuels

The Independent Public Revenue Authority can now proceed with the sealing of the gas stations that own, distribute and trade in adulterated fuels and the publication of their data, with a decision signed by the Governor of AADE, George Pitsilis.

The sealing days, depending on the amount of adulterated fuel, which will result from the laboratory test of the General Chemistry of the State, are the following:

How the seal is made

The sealing is imposed on all the tanks of the gas station or any other installation, with special seals and adhesive tapes on the main entrance and on the pumps. The stickers clearly state in Greek and English that the gas station is sealed due to fraud.

Counterfeit fuel must be disposed of with special procedures and at the expense of the owner of the service station, during which time it will be sealed, otherwise the installation will not be able to operate after its sealing.

The disclosure process

In addition, AADE, in compliance with the framework of the General Regulation on Personal Data Protection, publishes on its website (www.aade.gr) for one year the details of the offenders, in order to inform the citizens.

The data, which will be posted on the website of AADE, are:
• The name and patronymic of the natural person or the surname of the legal entity and its distinctive title

• The full postal address

• The number and date of issuance of the decision on publication of the violation

• The description of the violation

• The amount of adulterated fuel detected

• The period of sealing the installation

• Any appeal against the disclosure decision

• The number of the decision on the appeal and the possible appeal
