AAX Cryptocurrency Exchange became the main sponsor of the Istanbul Blockchain Summit and announced plans to enter the Turkish cryptocurrency market.
Being present at the fourth annual Blockchain Economy Summit 2022 in Istanbul is indicative of plans to expand into one of the target markets, AAX announced:
“There is an understanding and acceptance of digital assets in Turkey, and not just for trading and investing. Digital assets are in demand among the population, and the AAX exchange is ready to serve this market in order to bring the benefits of cryptocurrency technologies to all interested persons.”
Shortly before the summit, AAX made its presence felt by appointing Anadolu Aydınlı as regional director of the Turkish branch, tasked with expanding the exchange’s services in the country.
According to research, conducted consulting company Forrester commissioned by the AAX cryptocurrency exchange, modern Turkey is one of the countries whose population is most receptive to cryptocurrency technologies. Forrester analysts found that almost 16% of Turkey’s population – approximately 13.6 million people – are actively involved in operations in the cryptocurrency market, and also own digital assets.
In July, at the Blockchain Economy Istanbul conference, Turkish Finance Minister Noureddin Nebati and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao discussed the strategy and prospects for the development of the cryptocurrency industry. Binance launched its first customer service center in Turkey in April 2022, two years after it launched in the country.
