After being fired from “Scream 7” , Melissa Barrera Star now in a new horror. Entitled “Abigail” the new film from Universal Pictures also has the directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin It is Tyler Gillett from films 5 and 6 of the horror saga, taking over the direction of the new production, and actor Angus Cloud (“Euphoria”), who passed away in 2023, in the cast.
This Thursday (4), Universal Pictures released a new trailer for “Abigail”. The plot tells about a group of possible criminals who kidnap a 12-year-old dancer, daughter of a powerful underworld figure.
According to the official synopsis, all they have to do to receive a ransom of US$50 million (approximately R$250 million) is watch the girl at night. In an isolated mansion, the kidnappers begin to thin out one by one and discover, to their horror, that they are locked in with, in fact, a very abnormal little girl.
The film is one of the posthumous works of Angus Cloud, a star who died in July 2023 after an accidental overdose. The actor also stars in “Freaky Tales” – which premiered at the beginning of the year, but has not yet arrived in Brazil –, alongside Pedro Pascal.
Melissa Barrera was fired from “Scream 7” in 2023 after a publication about the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
The cast of “Abigail” also includes Dan Stevens (“Beauty and the Beast”), Kathryn Newton (“Lisa Frankenstein”), William Catlett (“The Devil You Know”), Kevin Durand (“Legion”) and Alisha Weir (“Matilda: The Musical”).
“Abigail” opens in Brazilian cinemas on April 18.
