Abortion, the US Supreme Court voted to revoke it

The US Supreme Court voted against abortion, for annul the historic Roe vs. Wade which has guaranteed the right to terminate a pregnancy for almost half a century. She made it known Politic, who last night published a 98-page document written by Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. (this is a first draft of the judges’ opinion), according to which this right should be decided by politicians and not by the courts. “It is time to listen to the Constitution and return the question of abortion to the elected representatives of the people ”.

Asked for a reply, the Supreme Court spokesman did not comment. If the judges announced that they have decided what is written in this draft, it would be a apocalyptic change in American law and politics, just a few months before midterm election of Congress, who will decide who controls power on Capitol Hill.

According to Politicthe judges who voted in support of Judge Alito’s opinion were Clarence Thomas, Neil M. Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.

The Roe v. Wade, who established the constitutional right to abortion in a historic 1973 case, has since been a cornerstone of American jurisprudence, the “precedent” that cemented women’s right to have access to legal abortion. During the years, the court accepted restrictions on this right, but never questioned the standard legal established by this judgment. The Supreme Court (which has six conservative and three liberal judges) has hinted that it could reconsider this position.

In December, during discussions at the Supreme Court, conservative judges made it known that they wanted to leave most of the decisions to individual states. In over twenty conservative states, lawmakers have prepared bills that would effectively outlaw abortion, if the court overturns the Roe v. Wade. If the court accepted Judge Alito’s opinion as its final position, those bills could quickly become law. According to the draft, the correct approach would be to “Bring the matter back to the states”saying that the Constitution says nothing about abortion and that there is nothing in its text that supports a constitutional right to abortion.
