Aboubakar Soumahoro: mother-in-law investigated, file opened for embezzlement

Confirmation came from the prosecutor’s office, the mother-in-law of Aboubakar Soumahoro is being investigated in Latina. The file in which the name of Marie Therese Mukamitsindo is inserted concerns two cooperatives that employ migrants from the Pontine province and is open for embezzlement. Investigations by the Labor Inspectorate have been underway for months. To this was added a survey by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.

According to the indictment, the cooperatives did not pay the workers and did not pay contributions. There is also the issue of minors housed in inadequate facilities. In the last few days, the testimonies on the management of companies have multiplied. The investigators investigate the flows of money, the management of the centers and the hypotheses of false invoices asked of the workers for payments.

The case was raised by the Uil of Latina which collected the testimonies of the workers of the Karibe cooperatives and the Aid Consortium. Gianfranco Cartisano is the secretary of Ulitucs of Latina: «Today we have only one goal, that of restoring the dignity of these workers and paying them immediately. The prefect must, in this social affair, activate a specific table with all the bodies responsible for procurement. We can no longer wait for the bureaucratic passages of the building: we want salaries immediately ».

In addition to the judicial question there is the political one. For at least three hours Soumahoro, who based his trade union and political career on the struggle for migrants and labourers, confronted Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni of the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra and they will meet again to clarify the position of the deputy elected and supported by the group. The vice president of the Senate Maurizio Gasparri, Forza Italia, has filed parliamentary questions on the case.

Doubts about Soumahoro’s work were also raised by the Caritas of San Severo, in the Foggia area, for a fundraiser for minors. Sambare Soumaila and Alfa Berry who have worked with the deputy are also asking for fundraising accounts from which only part of the proceeds have been used. Republic tells it. The deputy is not under investigation, but the situation is difficult for him from a political point of view. There is the hypothesis of suspension or self-suspension, if the deputy agrees to do so, for now he says that he is establishing his defense with the lawyers. This evening he will be a guest of A clean sweep on A7. He will propose his defensive line for now limited to a tearful video on social media.
