About a thousand students demonstrated in Rome “for Palestine, but not for Hamas”

About a thousand pupils and students demonstrated this afternoon in Romein solidarity with him Palestinian people and with a request to protect the civilians living in Gaza.

At the demonstration, which was also attended by foreign students living in the Italian capital, no slogans were heard in favor of Hamas. Initially, there was limited tension with the police because the demonstration had not been authorized by the authorities.

The youths threw eggs and smoke bombs at the police, who in response used their globes.

After a negotiation that lasted about an hour, the marchers were finally able to reach the central square of Piazza Vittorio, next to the train station of the Eternal City.

We say “no” to all injustices. Confusing Palestine with Hamas I think it’s like saying that Italy was represented by the Red Brigades,” the Italian Adriana Sabatini, who for a number of years was in charge of the solidarity link for the Palestinian people, told La Repubblica newspaper.
