Abstention from university entrance exams in the first phase of Unicamp was the lowest in eight years

Unicamp’s entrance exam, held this Sunday (7), had the lowest overall abstention rate in eight years. Of the 63,298 applicants for the 2022 vacancies, only 4,873 candidates did not take the test. Compared to last year’s edition, the absentee rate dropped by half, dropping from 13.8% to 7.7%.

The test was applied in 31 cities in the State of São Paulo and in the capitals Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Fortaleza and Salvador. In the host city of the university, for example, abstention was 9.4%; in São Paulo, 6.9%. The city with the lowest percentage of absentees was Piracicaba (SP), with 4.71%

The first phase test consisted of 72 multiple-choice questions, distributed as follows: 12 Portuguese language questions and Portuguese language literature, 12 math questions, eight history questions, eight geography questions (including Philosophy and Sociology) , eight physics questions, eight chemistry questions, eight biology questions and eight English questions.

Comvest, the body responsible for applying the test, will disclose the feedback on the questions next Wednesday (10), on the Vestibular 2022 page. The list of those approved in the first phase will be announced on December 13th.

“Those who signed up understood the importance of competing for vacancies and must have considered Comvest’s efforts in simplifying content and extending the test time, as gestures of a university attentive to the moment we live in”, commented the director of Comvest , José Alves de Freitas Neto, in a note.

The second phase will be held on January 9th and 10th, 2022. Specific skills tests for courses in architecture and urbanism, performing arts, visual arts and dance, will be held from January 13th to 15th, 2022, in Campinas.
