The Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police investigates a false spiritual guru accused of embezzle more than R$20 million, torture followers and exposing children to sexually explicit practices.
Adir Aliatti, 69 years old, led the “Osho Rachana” community, in Viamão, Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, which operated under the pretext of being a therapeutic space.
Bioenergetic immersion packages, which they cost up to R$ 12 thousand attract fragile people in search of emotional help.
Aliatti, however, manipulated participants for them to donate money and assets to the community, with the promise that it would be used for collective benefit.
Which actually didn’t happen, as he used it for his own benefit, buying real estate, taking luxurious trips, losing in online betting or going to casinos.

Psychological torture, aggression and “gay cure”
Investigations indicate that members of the community were subjected to intense psychological torture, including constant humiliation and threats.
Reports indicate that the guru made use of the victims’ weakened emotional state to exert control over their lives, reinforcing the idea that, if they left the community, they would not “I would achieve nothing else in life”.
Furthermore, the leader used invasive methods. The sect leader still forced the victims to undergo rectal ozone therapy and deceived the victims. Understand why the method is controversial.
There are reports of pregnant women being attacked, victims being dragged by their hair and sexual abuse under the pretext of a “gay cure” . According to investigations, he had forced women to keep sexual relations with several men in the community.

In addition to reports of violence against adults, the police are investigating reports of children who had been exposed to sexual acts among community members. There is still no evidence of child sexual abuse.
The court ordered the use of electronic ankle bracelets for two people under investigation, who are prohibited from approaching the victims and have had their passports suspended.
The Civil Police requests that reports or contact from victims related to the Operation Namaste be made through the number 51 9841-6606 which is from the 1st DP/Viamão.

“Adir Aliatti’s technical defense, carried out by lawyer Rodrigo Oliveira de Camargo, refutes the hypothesis raised by the complainants and has already been made available to the authorities. Aliatti trusts in justice and will not shy away from providing all necessary clarifications in the appropriate forums and times. As far as he was aware of the facts investigated, the materiality in the narrative does not hold up due to a lack of elements.”
