On the morning of August 28, a 2019 Tesla Model 3 crashed into a Florida Highway Patrol car in Orlando, causing both vehicles to be seriously damaged.
A Tesla Model 3 driver told officers that his car was moving on autopilot. After the accident, Tesla Model 3 also hit the Mercedes GLK 350 crossover. There were no reports of injuries or deaths as a result of the incident.

The Florida Department of Highway and Auto Industry confirmed that police had notified Tesla and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration of the incident.
