According to Counterpoint estimates, Apple’s share of the smartphone market in monetary terms has grown from 34% to 41% over the year.

Following their colleagues from Canalys, Counterpoint Research analysts summed up the results of the second quarter in the global smartphone market. However, if Canalys specialists were interested in quantitative indicators, then in the Counterpoint report the market is presented both in physical and monetary terms.

Counterpoint estimates that 329 million smartphones were shipped in just the quarter, an increase of 19% over the same period in 2020, but 7% less than in the first quarter of 2021. Revenue in the smartphone market grew 25% year over year to reach $ 96 billion. This is a record for the second quarter.

The market leader (hereinafter referred to in monetary terms) is Apple. Although it sold fewer devices than a year ago, its share of total industry revenue increased from 34% to 41%.

The share of the second-largest company Samsung decreased from 17% to 15%. Note that in terms of deliveries in quantitative terms, Samsung is in the lead.

The third place is taken by Xiaomi. Its share in total revenue increased from 6% to 9%.

A more complete and visual representation of the dynamics of the distribution of revenue is given by the diagram:
