Specialists of the analytical company IDC have prepared another report related to the market of devices for making hard copies, that is, printers, MFPs and copiers. The report covers the fourth quarter of 2020.
According to IDC calculations, in quantitative terms, sales increased by 5.6% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. In total, approximately 27 million devices were sold in the quarter. At the same time, in monetary terms, the market decreased by 5.1% to $ 11.1 billion.
Analysts note that growth was observed in six of the nine regions. The leader was the Chinese market, where the growth reached 18.4%.

HP was named the market leader for the quarter. Having increased supplies by 13.7%, it was able to increase its share from 38.3% to 41.2%. Canon Group is in second place. This manufacturer increased shipments by 2.4%, but as the market grew more, its share decreased from 21.2% to 20.5%. The third place belongs to Epson. Over the year, it reduced shipments by 0.3%, which led to a decrease in market share from 18.8% to 17.7%. The top five also include Brother and Kyocera Group, which account for 8.3% and 1.7% of the market, respectively. A year ago, Brother’s share was 8.9%, and the Kyocera Group’s share was 1.9%.
