According to Inmet, Rio Grande do Sul should have dry weather in June

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) published the climate forecast for June across the country. According to forecasts, next month rainfall should be below average in Rio Grande do Sul, a state that — since the end of April — has been hit by heavy rainfall.

The weather is expected to be dry in much of the country next month. The exception will be the North region of the country, the east of the Northeast region and specific areas of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, where above-average rains are forecast for June.

According to Meteorology, above-average rainfall in the North should favor the third harvest of beans and corn, while lower rainfall in the South should drench the soil.

Temperatures in June are expected to be above average throughout the country. In Rio Grande do Sul, low temperatures are expected, below 14ºC, but still up to one degree above the average for the month.

“The occurrence of frost in some locations, especially those at higher altitudes, cannot be ruled out, due to the entry of cold air masses that can cause a drop in temperature, which is very common at this time of year”, says the bulletin released by Inmet .

Next days

For next weekend, no rain is forecast for Rio Grande do Sul, although the weather may be cloudy. However, temperatures are expected to drop as a “migratory anticyclone” is expected to cross the southern region of the state.

On Saturday, the weather will be firm throughout the state, but on Sunday moderate rainfall may be recorded in the mountainous, metropolitan and northern coast regions of Rio Grande do Sul. According to Meteorology, the weather should be firm over the weekend in Porto Alegre, with temperatures varying between 16 °C and 9 °C.

For next week, there is still rain forecast, but the weather should become more stable, according to information from the state government.

Gaucho meteorological data comes from the Integrated Agrometeorological Bulletin 21/2024, from the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi), in partnership with the Riograndense Association of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Enterprises (Emater/RS-Ascar) and the Rio Grandense do Arroz Institute (Irga).
