Jean Machado Ribas, suspected of maintaining wife in private jail for five years was arrested at dawn this last Thursday (27) by the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF).
The man was located during an approach to the Rural Policing Battalion (BPRURAL) and the Rural Tactical Group, in São Sebastião (DF).
According to PMDF, Ribas was traveling from Paraná to Ceará and was found in an application vehicle, which had been hired to take him to Fortaleza. The driver was also arrested.
With the fugitive, the police seized a shaved revolver, 17 38 caliber ammunition and two ammunition. In addition to armament, he carried two counterfeit documents: a National Driver’s License (CNH) and a General Registry (ID).
The identification of the man was possible thanks to the sharing of information between the PMDF and the Paraná Military Police. He had been on the run for ten days since a arrest warrant was issued against him after being released at a custody hearing.
Rescue of the victim and denunciation
As determined by CNN the victim was rescued on March 14 after a complaint sent by her to the Brazilian Women’s House through an email.
The house where the victim was kept in private jail is located in a difficult rural area. In addition to suffering psychological and physical violence, the woman was prevented by her husband from using her cell phone without permission and was watched by monitoring cameras.

According to the Civil Police, he is suspected of committing private sequestration and jail crimes, bodily injury against women, threat and causing emotional damage. Witnesses claim that the man was covered by family members.
After the arrest, Jean Machado Ribas and the driver of the vehicle were taken to the police station and remain available to the court.
