Summer, sea and sun exposure. While for many it evokes a sense of relaxation, it is actually a stressful time for the skin and keeping it at bay acne and brufoli sometimes it is a challenge. In fact, at first glance, summer seems to become a solution to counteract the appearance of acne: in fact, a few hours lying in the sun are enough to feel an improvement in the epidermis and moreover, tanning tends to mask blemishes. Acne is a skin condition known for the classic presence of inflammatory lesions of the hair follicle e of the sebaceous gland annexed, which give rise to what is commonly called a pimple or boil.
The sun, although it can make the skin more homogeneous and “mask” inflammation, actually increases the thickness of the skin, thus increasing the possibility of follicular obstruction and a worsening of the situation.
With the “off the mask outdoors”, the face has become the protagonist again during the summer, but the use of the protective device in recent months has, on the other hand, caused the appearance of the so-called Maskne, mask acne caused by the combination of heat, humidity, sweating, friction and rubbing of the tissue against the face that generates the proliferation of bacteria and occlusion of the pores.
To understand the impact that pimples, and the phenomenon Maskne, are having on people’s lives in the summer and how many Italians experience this imperfection as a discomfort that is accentuated during the hot season, Eco Bio Boutique, a made in Italy brand, organic, 100% natural and with eco-sustainable packaging, has carried out an investigation on a sample of over a thousand people aged between 18 and 55 who regularly buy their products for pimples and blemishes.
The survey was answered by 15% of men and approximately 85% of women, of which 39.89% markedly indicated that pimples and blemishes or acne are a serious problem to solve. For 49% of the interviewees, acne and pimples represent an important discomfort in social life that affects self-esteem especially in summer, since on the beach it is not possible to hide or mitigate them with make-up. For 43%, on the other hand, skin imperfections are a slight insecurity that impacts their life. For almost 9 out of 10 people (89%), it is essential to prevent and cure acne permanently, through careful and specific skin care and daily skincare with natural pimple products.
“It is important to follow a daily ritual that must be intensified in the summer by preferring targeted and specific products to counteract acne”, says Simone Spizzichino, co-founder of Eco Bio Boutique. “We recommend products based on salicylic acid and vitamin PP, which exerts an anti-inflammatory, healing and preventive action against pimples and imperfections”.
