Act in memory of a student at USP dead happens this Thursday

A protest will be held on Thursday (24) in memory of Bruna Oliveira da Silva, 28, a student at the University of São Paulo (USP) who was found dead last Thursday (17). The victim had obvious signs of violence and was very injured.

The official beginning of the act is scheduled for 6.30 pm and the concentration will be held at the Corinthians-Itaquera Metro and Train Station, in the East Zone of São Paulo. The organization was done by the Bruna Oliveira collective, administered by student friends.

The demonstration will be supported by the Brazilian Union of Women of the city of São Paulo (UBM), which reaffirmed that the objective of the project is to denounce femicide and lack of security for women from São Paulo.

Remember the case

Bruna Oliveira da Silva, 28, found dead on Thursday (17). She was missing since Sunday (13), after leaving her boyfriend’s house in Butantã (West Zone).

Upon arriving at Terminal Itaquera, around 10 pm, Bruna sent a message to her boyfriend asking a pix to request an application car home. The amount was transferred, but, as found, Bruna did not even use the service and this was the last message exchanged with her boyfriend.

The corpse was located near Fatec Itaquera, in the East Zone of São Paulo. The victim had obvious signs of violence and was very injured, according to delegate Ivalda Aleixo, responsible for the case.

Esteliano José Madureira, appointed as Bruna’s killer, was found dead on Wednesday (23), and according to the Civil Police, the suspicion is that he was executed by the CCP’s court.

Also according to investigations, Esteliano lived in a community located 300 meters from the place where Bruna’s body was located. He was a drug user and assisted marketers to assemble and dismantle newsstands in the Itaquera subway region, where Bruna landed the night she was killed.
