Activision revealed a new map for Warzone: 15 points of interest in the 1944 setting

Yesterday, November 30, the developers from Activision officially presented the trailer for the new Caldera map for the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale, which will be available to gamers on December 9 (December 8, it will open to the owners of the Call of Duty: Vanguard shooter). In the new video, the authors of the project showed many points of interest – there are caves, waterfalls, forests and mountains hidden from the eyes, plus an urban area with the parliament building, car gas stations, fishing piers and many other unusual locations. The developers themselves said that they listened to the players, creating the most convenient and interesting map.

And this, frankly, is noticeable in small details – now the map is more saturated with natural shelters like stones, trees, small houses and buildings. In “Verdansk” there were quite a lot of open spaces, which gamers actively complained about – now it will be safer to rotate between locations. In addition, as previously assumed, the developers abandoned high-rise buildings – the map in the 1944 setting is dotted with one-story buildings, rocks and villages, while the volcano is the highest point on the map. Players have been asking for this for a long time too – skyscrapers give too much advantage to those who occupied them first.

And also on the “Caldera” there were points of interest along the edges of the island – in “Verdansk” it was ineffective to land on the edge. Now, the new location is somewhat remotely reminiscent of analogs from PUBG, where you can land even on the very edge of the island. The authors of the update also briefly showed the plane from which, apparently, the players will disembark, and published a full-fledged map in high resolution with division into locations and marks of points of interest. All this looks quite fascinating – the map is really worked out much better than the original one.
