Activists vandalized the portrait of King Charles in London

Animal Rising activists vandalized the new official portrait of King Charles in a London gallery today, covering the British monarch’s head with the face of the character Wallace, from the cartoon series Wallace and Gromit. In a video posted on Platform X by the animal welfare group, two activists can be seen covering the king’s head with Wallace’s face, leaving a message denouncing the “cruel treatment” of animals on farms certified by the RSCPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The official portrait of Charles has been on display since mid-May at the Philip Mold Gallery in London. Signed by renowned British artist Jonathan Geo, the portrait shows the king in the military uniform of the Welsh Guards against a red background.
