The actor Andre Bankoff apologized, this Saturday (31), after recording a commercial for a sex shop inside the Basilica of Santo Antônio, in Americana, in the interior of São Paulo.
“Four days ago I made a video inside the Basilica of Santo Antônio in Americana, for a proper brand, with scripting, creation and acting entirely by me. And somehow it hurt and affected some people in the Catholic community and also the entire diocese,” explained Bankoff.
“And when that happens, it is no longer a simple video that we produced or made, even if it was without thinking. In my case, we already made a mistake. But I also believe that the best way is to recognize the error and apologize for what happened. And that’s what I did when that happened, I went to speak to the priest in person,” he continued.

The diocese of Limeira and the basilica issued a note of repudiation, classifying the act of the actor and the company as “vile, undue, disrespectful to our faith, and an attack against the morals and good customs of the people of our city”.
According to Bankoff, the videos were deleted from all digital platforms.
