Emmy nominee Michael K. Williams, known as “Omar Little” in the HBO drama series “The Wire”, has been found dead at his home in Brooklyn, New York.
According to the authorities in the New York Post The possible cause of death of the 54-year-old actor was the overdose as drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.
The actor had spoken openly about his personal battles with drugs over the years, alongside the filming of “The Wire”, saying that his involvement in the role of Little, who robs drug dealers, affected him in real life.
Williams, 54, was best known for his role as Chalky White in “Boardwalk Empire” in addition to his role as Omar Little. Among Michael Williams’ most recent roles was as Montrose Freeman in HBO’s Lovecraft Country, for which he was nominated for an Emmy 2021 as an outstanding actor in a supporting role in a drama series.
