Actor Pedro Paulo Rangel dies in Rio de Janeiro, aged 74

The actor Pedro Paulo Rangel died in Rio de Janeiro on the morning of this Wednesday (21), aged 74, due to lung problems, at Casa de Saúde São José, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. Death was confirmed by the health unit.

He had been hospitalized since October 30 to treat a decompensation of pulmonary emphysema, according to the health center. He went to the ICU on November 6th, showed a slight improvement in the condition, but did not resist.

The actor was born in Rio de Janeiro, on June 29, 1948. His debut as a professional actor took place in the theater, in 1968, at the age of 20, in “Roda Viva”, by Chico Buarque, under the direction of José Celso Martinez Corrêa . Two years later, he made his debut on television, hired by TV Tupi in São Paulo for the cast of the soap opera “Super Plá”, by Bráulio Pedroso, according to his statements for the website Memória Globo, which gathers testimonials and history of big names. that passed through the broadcaster.

In 1972, Pedro Paulo made his debut on the Rio de Janeiro broadcaster, in the soap opera “Bicho do Mato”. Among the outstanding works on the station are the soap operas “Gabriela” (1975), “Saramandaia” (1976) and “Vale Tudo” (1988), in the humorous “’TV Pirata” (1988) and in “O Cravo e a Rosa” ( 2000), where he played the naive Calixto, a pair of Dona Mimosa, played by actress Suely Franco, a soap opera repeated several times on the network, which he left in 2013.
