Actress Anne Heche was involved in a car accident in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles (USA) on Friday (6), local authorities informed the CNN . The accident caused a fire, which engulfed the vehicle and a nearby house.
Heche was traveling at high speed when he veered off the road and collided with a residence, LAPD Public Information Officer Jeff Lee told CNN . The impact set the car on fire and the driver suffered burns.
She was taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition. Firefighters said it took more than an hour to “access, confine and fully extinguish the flames within the heavily damaged structure”.
No other injuries were reported. THE CNN contacted Heche representatives for comment.
Heche first rose to fame on the soap opera “Another World”, where she played the dual role of twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love from 1987 to 1991 and won an Emmy for her performance. She followed that with roles in films like “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days, Seven Nights”.
His romantic relationship with Ellen DeGeneres in the late 1990s resulted in intense media attention at the time, much to Heche’s professional frustration. In a 2021 interview with Page Six, the actress said that she felt “blacklisted” after publicly disclosing the relationship.
“I haven’t done a studio movie in 10 years,” said Heche, who dated DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000.
Heche has appeared in several television series more recently, including “The Brave”, “Quantico” and “Chicago PD”. She has several acting projects currently in post-production as per her IMDB profile.
