The actress Elizabeth Olsen 35, revealed that she used to face panic attacks “almost every hour”. The star, who is the sister of twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, shared that she experienced flare-ups with alarming frequency, triggered by everyday situations, from temperature changes and hunger to wearing high heels.
“[Eram] several times [ao dia]like, almost every hour! It was literally any change: from hot to cold, from hunger to satiety. I thought: ‘Ah, is this ok?’ And then it started to get worse, and it became a pattern,” she told The Observer newspaper.
To deal with the episodes, she had to learn to “interrupt the thought process” and find ways “to regain control”: “You learn very quickly with who you feel comfortable with and who you don’t.”
The artist confessed to having left one of her “triggers” in the past: high heels. At public events, she chooses to wear them for a short period before quickly swapping them for more comfortable shoes.
“People thought it was a feminist choice. Like, none of that! If I wear heels and stand in front of you, I’m going to have a panic attack. I prefer to feel my feet on the ground,” she added.
The star added that a recent helicopter ride during the press tour for her latest film, “The Three Daughters” left her traumatized.
“It was the first time I rode in a helicopter. I hated it. It was like being on a roller coaster for an hour and a half, even though it was probably 45 minutes. It was brutal. It wasn’t for me. I just thought about dying all the time…”, she said. “I will never do that again.”
Recently, Elizabeth opened up about what it was like growing up in the shadow of her famous sisters, revealing that she enjoyed living a normal life while her sisters traveled the world.
“Anything that took me out of school as a kid, I didn’t want to do. Even when my sisters traveled all over the world in the summer, filming these movies, I stayed home and attended my summer camps. My sisters were always on set. I only saw them working. And what my friends and I did was play. I liked creating things with my friends,” he told The Times newspaper.
