Dressed in a white silk skirt and a single ivory feather on top – and nothing else – google searches for the actress Hunter Schafer shot on Sunday (12) at the 2023 Oscars when his look went viral on social media.
On Twitter, Schafer received thousands of mentions while his own post on Instagram already has more than 2.5 million likes.
The ensemble had just walked off the Fall-Winter 2023 runway. It was made by Ludovic de Saint Sernin creative director of Ann Demeulemeester.

For his first collection for the brand, Saint Sernin was inspired by “making fashion as an authentic act of self-involvement”. It was a love letter to the founder of the Belgian brand.
The ideas of self-expression, self-love and self-definition took on new meaning when used by Schafer.
As a trans woman, whose rise to fame has also been linked to her gender identity, in addition to bringing trans teen Jules to life on HBO’s “Euphoria,” Schafer’s body is subject to constant online scrutiny.
Comments on her Instagram posts often turn into open forums where users feel free to ask intimate questions about the trans experience or question Schafer’s womanhood.
Founded in 1985 by Ann Demeulemeester and her husband Patrick Robyn, the brand boasts a long legacy of gender-neutral fashion.
In their latest joint collection, Saint Sernin – who is known in the industry for their eponymous gender fluid label – brought their androgynous view of the world to Ann Demeulemeester, with romantic masculine silhouettes and sensual fabrics for all.
