The court in its capital Accra Ghana found the actress guilty of publishing obscene material, domestic violence that undermined another person’s privacy or integrity, and domestic violence that could harm someone’s dignity and self-esteem.

During the trial, the judge expressed concern about the sharp rise in child abuse and the posting of obscene material in Ghana. She also took into account the fact that the actress pleaded guilty, that she was raising her child alone and the fact that she appeared remorseful for the incident.

“Did he ask for the child’s permission before posting the photo?” Was the child’s right respected? No he did not”, said the judge. “A harsh sentence will act as a deterrent,” he added.

The mother’s lawyer announced that she would appeal the decision.

Following the sentencing, Cardi B commented on Twitter, where she has 18 million followers: “I have seen many Americans take such photos. Although it’s not my style, I do not think it was sexual, it was more an idea of ​​what is natural. “I think prison is a bit harsh.”
