Ad. Georgiadis: If necessary, other measures will be taken, but no lockdown will be imposed

“If necessary, other measures will be taken, but no lockdown will be imposed”, replied the Minister of Development and Investment ‘Adonis Georgiadis in an interview, this morning, on the TV station Antenna and when asked if new measures will be taken for tackling the pandemic if epidemiological indicators are further exacerbated.

Also, when asked if the government shows signs of relaxation in dealing with the pandemic and no longer accepts the recommendations of the committee of experts, Mr. Georgiadis stressed that the experts propose measures related to the health of the pandemic, but the Government is obliged to take measures and decisions taking into account all the parameters and of course that of the Economy.

The minister also stressed that the big difference with the corresponding period a year ago, is that now there is a vaccine and now “everyone’s life can not stop because some people chose not to be vaccinated”.

As for the possibility of measures being taken for the unvaccinated and for them to enter the supermarkets, he said that yes it is something that is being considered, but in fact it is extremely difficult to implement.

Finally, among other things, he clarified that yesterday he was not disapproved by representatives of the restaurant he met in Syntagma Square, but there was a small tension with members of PAME who were marching on health issues.
