Ad. Georgiadis: Our will is to help vulnerable households

“The will of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the competent ministers is to prioritize helping vulnerable households and those who do not make ends meet,” the Minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, said on the SKAI television station, speaking about the energy crisis.

He said that the mix of support measures would be announced by the Prime Minister at the TIF.

Asked if a punctuality check will be given, he stated that he himself as a minister has not said no to a measure that helps vulnerable citizens.

Mr. Georgiadis also said that the economy is growing at unprecedented high rates, doing better than the budget forecasts.

He added that this year a triple record was recorded, in investments, receipts from tourism and exports.

This triple record creates fiscal space for the government to leave no one alone,” said Mr. Georgiadis.

He added that the electricity subsidy is the biggest on the planet, not only in Europe. Such a large electricity subsidy, he said, does not mean that citizens should not start saving energy, because “electricity is already expensive”.

Regarding the duration of the support, he said that “as long as the economy overperforms, we will have room to support the world. You cannot take measures that exceed the forces of the economy”.

The aim is to control inflation, he said and added that we had the biggest decrease on a monthly basis.
