The company ADAPTIT yesterday signed a contract with the Ministry of Civil Protection for the implementation of the project “Supply of Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS)” and the provision of maintenance services for the years 2027, 2028 and 2029 “.
The project includes the development and operation of an API System, in order to carry out the pre-screening of passengers, coming from airports of countries outside the European Union, for the Greek Police.
API messages contain the details of the passenger’s travel document, the passenger’s details and the flight information (airport of arrival, flight number, date and time of departure and arrival, total number of passengers and boarding airport).
This is a key project for the Supervisory Authorities, which will significantly contribute to increasing the level of security, through the use of appropriate information. The work of passport control officers will also be facilitated, as passenger API data can be automatically matched to international and national databases (“Security Searches”) and provided in electronic form.
In more detail, with the operation of the system will be performed:
– The collection of API messages and the schedule of flights from third countries.
– Decoding and database storage of API messages and the arrival schedule.
– Performing “security searches”.
– The export of statistics.
The value of the project amounts to 1,079,508 euros, not including VAT.
