Adele, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay nominated for Best Songwriters Award

Producer Dean “Inflo” Josiah Cover, who has worked with the likes of Adele and little simzleads the nominations for the awards, with four – three of them in the best album category, said the Ivors Academybased in the United Kingdom.

Sheeran, who on Wednesday won a copyright case over his 2017 hit “Shape Of You” in London’s High Court, has three nominations. The other two are for the hits “Bad Habits” and “Shivers” in the dispute for the most performed works.

This category also includes “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa, “Little Bit of Love” by Tom Grennan, and “BED” by DJs David Guetta and Joel Corry with Raye.

“It’s been a standout year for music and I’m proud of the 77 talented songwriters we’re celebrating this year,” said singer-songwriter and Ivors judge Shaznay Lewis.

“Their work and words touch a dizzying array of emotions, and I consider myself lucky to have heard their stories.”

The award, named after the early 20th century Welsh composer, actor and animator Ivor Novello, is one of the most important in the world and was first awarded in 1956. The 67th edition will take place on May 19 in London.
