Administrator is accused of defaulting on R$ 30 million in 40 condominiums in SP

Administrator Fort House is accused of disappearing R$ 30 million from a joint account used to manage 40 condominiums in São Paulo.

The managing partner and director of the company, João Carlos Caporicci, sent a letter to the trustees announcing the closure of activities, the dismissal of employees and admitting problems.

In the letter, which CNN had access, the businessman admits that he is solely responsible for the financial transactions and attributes what he calls “wrong decisions” to depression and hospitalization due to Covid-19.

“I am fully responsible for my mistakes with my clients and also with my employees, who were also directly affected by my wrong actions and decisions, the mismanagement of the accounts entrusted to me, and I feel deeply devastated by the situation I have put them in. etnse moment”, he explained.

The Fort House partner also alleges that the difficulties led him to resort to loans with loan sharks and banks, ending the possibilities of paying the debts. He ends the letter by apologizing “for the harm” he has caused.

After the closure of the company and the discovery of the disappearance of the money that was in the joint account, on March 19, João Carlos Caporicci was no longer found by the liquidators.

The crisis hit several affected condominiums shortly after the report. At the Dom Leonardo Dom Felipe condominium, in the North zone of São Paulo, the manager resigned from her position and emergency meetings were held to guarantee the payment of bills and employees.

The Edifício Acquaria condominium, in the south zone of São Paulo, was short of R$ 430 thousand. The manager, Ricardo Nascimento, filed a police report.

The case is being investigated by the 35th Police District, in Jabaquara, and the 89th Police District, both in the south of São Paulo. There are at least 4 open police investigations.

Lawyer Márcio José Macedo, defender of the businessman, told the CNN that there was no disappearance of the money, but mismanagement related to the payment of interest, and that the amount does not reach R$ 30 million.

He alleges that João Carlos Caporicci and his family are receiving threats.
