The city of Floresta, in the sertão de Pernambuco, said goodbye to Ingrid Vitória, 13, on Monday (31). Friends and family paid tributes in a moment marked by emotion and mourning .
The teenager’s body was buried in the São Miguel Cemetery, around 11am, after a procession, which left the municipality of Santa Maria da Boa Vista on Sunday night (30).
Ingrid was kidnapped last Tuesday (25), while traveling Curaçá, Bahia, to Pernambuco. The criminal, 36-year-old Jocelmo Caldas da Silva, who had given the victim, her mother and 3-year-old brother hitchhiked, assaulted her mother on the way and put Ingrid in the trunk of the vehicle.
Police were fired and began searching for the caatinga vegetation. Security forces used sniffer dogs and the Social Defense Secretariat (SDS) helicopter. On the fourth day of work, the aircraft used fell and was destroyed, but the four occupants had no serious injuries.
