Adriane Galisteu talks about the illness that prevented her from getting pregnant again

The presenter Adriane Galisteu 51, spoke in a statement in his documentary “Invisible Bars”, released this Tuesday (13), that an autoimmune disease prevented her from having more children .

In May, she revealed another reason why Vittório Galisteu, 14, doesn’t have a brother: her husband doesn’t want one. Her only son is the result of her relationship with businessman Alexandre Iódice, to whom she has been married since 2019.

In the documentary, Galisteu says he has otosclerosis, a disease with unknown causes — it could be hereditary or caused by a viral infection, such as measles. In addition, hormonal disorders can be risk factors for the disorder — such as hormone variations caused by pregnancy.

According to her, doctors advised her against having children, given that the changes that pregnancy causes could affect her hearing.

“I don’t want to risk losing the other ear. I can’t risk it for the sake of time, my job and my health. […] There are people who lose their hearing in a year and there are people who lose it in 30 years, and I don’t know what it’s going to be like,” she said in the documentary.

Even though she has a condition that made her choose not to have any more children, the presenter reveals that she still feels capable. “I feel very good about having a child and being a mother again, I feel complete for it. Even though I’m 50, I swear I’m serious. I know myself very well, if I hadn’t gone through this [a doença] I would have already gotten pregnant, I would have had at least one more child.”

Galisteu had revealed in an interview with Programa do João, on Band, that he is inspired by actress Claudia Raia who had Luca, her third child, at the age of 55. “The only thing I regret is not having had another [filho]. This is something I keep nagging Alexandre about. Claudia Raia is my total reference. The problem is that my husband doesn’t want it,” she said.

The presenter began dating the businessman in 2009, announcing her pregnancy with Vittório, her first and only child, in December of that year. The two got married in November 2010, three months after the child was born.

The documentary “Barras Invisíveis”, which tells the story of Adriane Galisteu, is available to watch on Universal+.
