Aegean signed a commercial agreement with the tourism and business group of Saudi Arabia, ELAF, as part of the business mission of Saudi Arabia to Athens yesterday and today.
In particular, the agreement with the tourism and business group of Saudi Arabia, ELAF, concerns the commercial representation of Aegean in Saudi Arabia where the Greek airline has been investing by operating regular flights since 2015, gradually increasing its presence.
It is noted that Aegean connects Greece with Saudi Arabia by making regular flights to and from Athens and the airports of Riyadh and Jeddah. More specifically, Aegean operates with 3 weekly flights to and from Jeddah airport throughout the year and with 3 weekly flights to and from Riyadh during the summer season.
In the context of the discussions held, Aegean expressed its intention to increase the number of scheduled flights both to Jeddah and to Riyadh, after the receipt of additional new AIRBUS neo 320 and 321 aircraft by adding a morning route to Riyadh, to expand even more the service period of the itineraries to and from the two capitals but also to proceed with the addition of one more new destination, which will connect Athens with Dammam.
It is noted that traffic to and from Saudi Arabia has been on the rise in recent years, reflecting the growing tourist and business interest, and Aegean with its network supports this as it has already increased its presence compared to the corresponding 3rd quarter of 2019 by 25%.
