Nearly seven months after Aerosmith were forced to postpone their farewell “Peace Out” tour, the band is returning to the road in the fall of the northern hemisphere, which occurs at the same time as spring in Brazil.
The rockers said they were “thrilled” to announce the rescheduled tour dates in an Instagram post on the band's official page on Wednesday.
The tour will kick off in Pittsburgh, in the US state of Pennsylvania, on September 20th and run until February 26th of next year, when they will play their final show in Buffalo, New York. The Black Crowes will return as special guests for Aerosmith throughout the tour.
In September 2023, Aerosmith announced that famed lead singer Steven Tyler had suffered a vocal cord injury in a statement posted on the band's Facebook page. As a result, they postponed the remainder of their “Peace Out” farewell tour dates, after playing just three shows.
“To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor confirmed that in addition to damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care,” the statement read.
“I'm heartbroken to not be there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” Tyler wrote in a personal note to fans at the time.
“I promise we’ll be back as soon as we can!”
The rescheduled 40-date North American tour is billed as both a celebration of Aerosmith's 50 years together and the band's final farewell.
All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled shows, as announced in the band's post on Wednesday, and tickets will go on sale on Friday (12), at 10am, in the buyer's time zone.
