AetherSX2 is a PS 2 console emulator for the Android platform. You can play games that you have downloaded from the disc to your portable device.
The BIOS image is **required** for the game and is not optional. This image must be created from your own console using the homebrew application.
To achieve good performance, you need a high-end device. We recommend at least a Snapdragon 845 equivalent device. This means 4 powerful cores (Cortex-A75 level, 500 or more Geekbench 5 single cores). If you only have two large cores (e.g. Snapdragon 700 series SoC), you shouldn’t enable multi-threaded VU as performance will suffer as a result.
Devices with Mali or PowerVR GPUs will be able to run the app, but performance will be much slower than Adreno GPUs.
AetherSX2 Features:
- System emulation
- OpenGL, Vulkan and software rendering
- Game upscaling to 1080p and beyond
- Widescreen patches for games without built-in support
- State saving
- Support for touch screens and bluetooth controllers
- Games can be loaded from iso/chd/cso disk images
- Settings for each game
